Roman Beck is Professor at IT University of Copenhagen since February 2014 and Head of the Information Management section and Head of the “Technology, Information Management & Entrepreneurship” (TIME) research group. His research focuses on the role of IT service sourcing, services management, and services engineering with a special focus on social media analytics, cryptographic economic systems and virtualization in the financial service sector. He is interested in institutional logics, organizational mindfulness, and organizational awareness. Before joining ITU, Roman has been Assistant Professor and the E-Finance and Service Science Chair at Goethe University in Frankfurt between 2008 and 2014. Roman serves also as Senior Editor for the JITTA and the DATA BASE journal and as Associate Editor for MISQ, BISE, and JBE. He has been track chair at ICIS in 2014 and 2015 and has published over 30 journal and 80 peer-reviewed conference articles in outlets such as MISQ, JIT, CAIS, I&M, IT&P, ICIS, among others. Furthermore, Roman is co-founder of a FinTech dealing with financial reference data management in 2010 in New York and Frankfurt and writes as columnist for finans.dk, one of the leading finance magazines in Denmark, covering IT and Finance topics.
