Native of Drogheda, Ireland, Neil Sands is the global technology executive with insurtech pioneers Trōv, based in San Francisco, CA.
Having graduated with double honors from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth Neil was awarded the President Garvey Scholarship; conducted Masters studies in the US, and received an MBA, and University College Dublin.
Neil worked for several years in the Canadian private sector, holding strategy positions in Anti-Money Laundering Anti-Terrorist Financing, before transitioning to the Bay Area with Accenture Global Management Consulting in 2010. In 2012, Neil made his first start-up exit from the Facebook development firm, Syncapse; having received $25 million in funding from BDC and ABS Capital Partners. In 2013 Neil joined Framehawk; a NASA powered mobility startup, which was acquired by Citrix. In 2014 Neil became Salesforce’s youngest Global Vice President, and co-founded the company’s design-thinking division Ignite which he led as Chief Experience Officer.
Neil is an active member of the Irish Community, holding board positions with several non-for-profit, philanthropic and voluntary organizations: within GAA, American Ireland Funds, INUSA, GOAL USA. Neil has been president of Irish Network Bay Area for 4 years, and won the IC Top 40 Under 40 Award in 2015.
Neil is a published author and is a regular contributor on innovation, mobile, design and cloud technology; and enjoys playing polo, hurling and sailing.
