Tribe Payments' story

Money20/20 came at the perfect time for our “official launch” of Tribe Payments; we wanted to be able to exhibit at a major payments conference that we knew would be well attended, both by global organisations looking for payments partners and also from a press perspective.

As a new market entrant, Money20/20 gave us great visibility from a brand perspective; the sheer size of the exhibition meant that we could take a large space/stand and ensure our branding and stand stood out. This gave us the platform we needed to engage with a variety of prospects, partners and prospective investors.

We had organised meetings prior to attending and had also planned PR activity during the first day of the show – that PR activity generated an unbelievable amount of press coverage and people were coming over to the stand based on that coverage; we were in the perfect place at the right time! We met with a number of existing partners at Money20/20 and had a huge number of new business conversations; the majority on our stand. One of the leads from the show is now a signed client and is going through the implementation stage as we speak!

The advice we would offer to others is to be prepared, it's literally never too early to start planning. There is so much to do in the lead up to the show that you need to ensure you are organised and methodical. Think about the bigger picture; having a stand at Money20/20 is great BUT it is made even better if you can put PR plans in place / look at additional activity around that time / think about white papers / corporate videos / website content etc!
