Martijn is Plaid’s EU Policy lead. In his role, Martijn liaises with regulators and policymakers to foster a thriving digital financial industry in the European Union and focuses on the growth and development of the open banking regulatory framework.

Before joining Plaid, Martijn worked for the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, an organization funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, in developing policy for financial services for emerging markets, He was head of content and partnerships at Holland Fintech, the Netherlands’ largest fintech ecosystem, and has written technical papers for the UN task force on digital finance. Martijn holds an LL.B. In European and International law and and LL.M in International Corporate and Commercial Law from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
