Koen Köppen has served as the CEO of Mollie since January 2023, after first joining the company as CTO in May 2022.

Koen came to Mollie from Klarna, where he worked from 2011 to 2022. After holding several leadership roles, he served as the company’s Chief Technology Officer from 2017 onward. In that position, he oversaw the scaling of Klarna's technology division during a period of significant company growth.

Today, Koen leads Mollie in its mission to make money management effortless for every business in Europe and the UK. Founded in Amsterdam in 2004, Mollie is the financial partner trusted by over 250,000 companies. Through a single, high-performance system, it unifies online and in-person payments, reconciliation, fraud prevention, and flexible financing across more than 30 markets—pairing cross-border reach with the deep local expertise businesses need to grow.
