Jim is a leader in the global payments industry with over 30 years of experience across the debit-to-credit spectrum, having held senior roles in sales, risk authentication, and digital innovation. He is regarded as a go-to expert for banks, fintechs, and corporates exploring new card programmes and expanding internationally, and is regularly consulted by analysts on the future of payments.

A disrupter and innovator at heart, Jim spent 18 years at Visa, where as EVP of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships he led Visa’s product and technology roadmap and strategic business development. He played a key role in delivering industry standards like 3D Secure and Visa Token Service, and in launching Apple Pay®.

Before being named CEO of Thredd, Jim joined as EVP – Global Head of Product and Sales in January 2023, following his role as President of US-based payments processor i2c Inc, which he led through record growth.
