As General Counsel, Emilie Mathieu oversees legal, regulatory affairs, compliance, and enterprise risk at Checkout.com. She is also a member of the Board. Emilie joined the company in 2022 as VP and Deputy General Counsel to lead the product, regulatory, and data privacy legal teams.

Prior to joining Checkout.com, Emilie gained a wide variety of in-house experience in strategic legal functions, including at Amazon, eBay, and Mandiant (acquired by Google). Emilie studied History and Art History at Williams College and earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

She was awarded the German Chancellor Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and speaks fluent French, English and German.  Outside of work, Emilie enjoys swimming at the ponds on Hampstead Heath
