Emmy award-winning journalist
Elliott is an award-winning TV news correspondent, master of ceremonies/moderator, and media trainer. A regular on CNN, he received an Emmy for being part of the network’s breaking news coverage of the October 7 attacks on Israel. Likewise, he was an integral member of the CNN team that won 2024’s Overseas Press Club of America David Kaplan Award for Best TV news reporting from abroad.
Prior to reporting for CNN, Elliott was Bloomberg Television’s Middle East Editor, and before that, the network’s Europe Business Editor. He led coverage of the biggest stories, including the global fi nancial crisis, economic meltdowns in Ireland and Greece, and elections in the UK, Turkey and the Netherlands. In 2008 he was shortlisted for a Business Journalist of the Year award.
From 2003 till 2005, Elliott was the BBC’s South America Correspondent, and before that, the broadcaster’s man in Lima, where he also reported for ABC News, CBS and a number of major newspapers and magazines.
During his 25-year career in broadcasting, Elliott has also interviewed prime ministers and presidents, including Hugo Chavez, Mark Rutte, David Cameron and Shimon Peres; fi ntech founders, like Revolut’s Nik Storonsky and Klarna’s Sebastian Siemiatkowski; and Nobel Laureates, like Mario Vargas Llosa.
As an in-demand speaker, Elliott has hosted and moderated at scores of conferences around the world, on subjects ranging from global trade and geopolitics to fi ntech and artifi cial intelligence. He lives in London with his two children and his one-eyed dog, Molly.
