The FCA is the UK's financial services regulator focusing on protecting consumers, protecting market integrity and promoting effective competition.
As part of the FCA’s remit to promote effective competition in the interest of consumers, and to ensure that firms have the necessary regulatory certainty to innovate, the FCA has created a pro-innovation agenda that supports sensible innovation in the interest of consumers. This has included launching the first Innovate initiative within a financial regulator in 2014, and launching the first Regulatory Sandbox in 2016.
The FCA has a significant international focus through its bilateral cooperation agreements, and as part of a group of international regulators within the proposed Global Sandbox, is helping innovative firms scale across borders and increase regulatory collaboration where there is consumer benefit.
