Advent International & Bain Capital
Advent International and Bain Capital are two of the world’s largest and most experienced global private equity firms and are leading investors in the payments and financial services ecosystem.
They have specific experience of partnering with management teams and working closely with banks to carve-out and build sustainable value in payments businesses. They have collaborated to execute several pioneering transactions in Europe, including Concardis, a leading provider of payment services for merchants in Germany; Nexi, a leading player in the Italian financial services sector with strong positions in payments services; Nets, one of Europe’s largest providers of payment, information and digital identity solutions, listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange since 2016 and recently taken private by a consortium led by Hellman & Friedman; and Worldpay, a leading global merchant services payments provider, which merged, in January 2018, with another Advent-backed carve-out Vantiv, creating a global leader in omni-commerce payments, processing more than 40 billion transactions annually. Most recently, Advent has invested in Clearent/FieldEdge, a provider of payment services and business management software to merchants in the US. Prior to this, Advent backed the carve-out deal of Idemia, a world leader in identification and digital security technologies, and the buyout of TransUnion, now publicly traded, and Bain Capital backed the buyout of Fleetcor, a global leader in fuel cards and other specialty payments.
