Roel Wolfert is a seasoned business executive in the global payments arena. Since 1997 he is active in and around major payments initiatives across the world. He has been involved in various high profile projects including central market infrastructure (RTGS), commercial payments (transaction banking), (fuel)cards, internet payments, person-2-person payments, mobile, contact-less and mobile wallets. He specialises in strategy, innovation, transformation and execution. Some of the key industry initiatives Roel has been working on are CLS, iDEAL, SEPA and e-Invoicing.
Roel has a strong track record in building successful businesses from scratch and bring start-ups to the next level of growth, focusing on sales, marketing, strategy, innovation and value. He has done so for large consulting/technology companies, Internet start-ups and Financial Institutions.
As a Chief Marketing & Sales Officer (CMO) of Qoin, Roel is responsible for the commercial positioning and the sales & marketing activities.
Roel loves rugby, antiques and lives in the countryside in the Randstad. He is currently writing a book about Value Management and Innovation.
