Elle Kim joined Samsung Electronics in March 2016 to lead global new business development for Samsung Pay. She comes with more than twenty years of global payments expertise in developing strategy, partnerships and products at Fortune 100 companies as well as start-ups.
In her new role, Elle will create the next generation of partnerships and products for Samsung Pay. As Samsung Pay scales globally, she will expand the ecosystem to new partners and launch new features and products to enhance the Samsung Pay experience for customers.
Before joining Samsung, Elle was leading business development for payments at Google, including Android Pay in the U.S. and the UK. She enabled Pay-By-Gmail and served as the CEO for Google Payments Limited, an FCA-licensed e-money subsidiary company.
Before Google, Elle led a team to develop loyalty propositions at Visa Europe. Elle also worked in the strategy group at Lloyds Banking Group, and spent ㅡmore than six years at American Express in UK. At American Express, Elle was head of the Corporate Purchasing Card unit providing B2B solutions to global partners including new prepaid products such as gift cards and the Travelers Cheque card.
In her early career, Elle worked in New York and Singapore as a strategy consultant, and held positions at banks and management consultant firms. Elle has her MBA from INSEAD and a BS degree from the University of Rochester, New York. She holds dual citizenship for the U.S. and the UK, and continues to travel for both work and on holidays to as many countries as she can.
