Calmejane, 33, is charged with harnessing digital innovations and disruptions to best suit Lloyds’ 30 million customers and 50,000 employees. The computer engineer joined the bank in October 2012 as head of digital delivery and became head of the digital centre of excellence, innovation and partnerships in 2014, helping to devise a strategy to digitise a large corporate bank. She became director of innovation in January this year and, since joining the company, she has set up the LBG Innovation Labs which focus on internal innovation and now have 50 people working in them. She has also worked with Lloyds’ human resources team to set up the UK’s first digital graduate scheme. French-born Calmejane is a board member and mentor at Startupbootcamp FinTech, having helped to drive Lloyds’ backing of the accelerator programme. Before joining the bank, she worked in the London office of Capgemini Consulting and has served as a visiting scientist at the MIT Center for Digital Business in Boston.
