The politics of FinTech: Whose hub is it anyway?

09:00 - 09:55 | Tuesday 27 June
| Track room 4 | Legal & Regulatory

Most of the hubs across Europe were started by entrepreneurs and innovators but now we are slowly seeing politicians taking leading roles. Support from government is essential but with it comes great responsibility and political navigation. How can you strike the right balance between government support and political intervention? In addition, what is the current and potential future impact of Brexit and the rise of nationalism across the world? How can these FinTech hubs compete for the brightest talent yet collaborate to help startups to scale across multiple markets? This session will cover how to grow a successful FinTech hub as the panellists debate who has the best hub.
