Driving contactless payment adoption: What’s in store for the future?
Is contactless the future? Even organisations in developing markets have launched with QR codes, as has the UK’s largest supermarket. Even if it is the future, are consumers confused with all the variable spend limits, and all of the different mobile wallets? In many markets where contactless cards have become established they have done so through public transport usage. Is this the way to educate the consumer? Is there a real demand or are issuers and acquirers trying to force it on consumers and - as the press makes clear - add significant fraud risk to the average person in the street?
